Rob Slade is a self-taught drummer whose passion began at age 16, shaped by a broad range of influences including Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Primus, Exodus, Pantera, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Helmet, Prong, Whitesnake, and Thunder. In the mid-90s he simultaneously played in thrash band Mephitis and glam rock band Thai Dyed Suicide. A standout moment was performing with Mephitis at Wolverhampton Civic Hall (Wulfrun) just one week after Nirvana's show there.

After an active early career, a lengthy hiatus followed before he returned to the kit in 2016. That break fundamentally changed his playing — moving the emphasis from raw power to technique, precision, and feel.

Since returning, Rob has become a respected figure in the Cheltenham and Gloucestershire scene. His journey includes grunge outfit Looking California, recording multiple albums with David Kahl (OldErnie) at Farmyard Studios and Shaken Oak, and performing with Shadowflag until their memorable 10-year farewell gig at Scruffy Murphy's in Birmingham.

In 2023, Rob co-founded Kromiius with bassist Bob Stratton and Paul "Foxy" Fox. After a period of line-up changes and guitarist trials, Bob switched to guitar and the band stabilised with Ant Moss. This line-up has released several singles and performed numerous gigs across the country. Rob recently joined established outfit Nophobia, whose sound blends djent guitar tones, groove metal, punk energy, classic rock, and 90s-style clean vocals. Nophobia has released multiple EPs and singles and has performed at venues including Cheltenham Guild Hall.

Rob is also a regular deputy drummer for Bare Knuckle Asylum, a high-energy band drawing on classic rock with heavy Machine Head-inspired riffs and intricate structures. With BKA he has played HRH Great Yarmouth, HRH Ibiza, and various local gigs.

A dedicated member of the Green Room Studios family, Rob brings groove, technical skill, and reliability to every project he joins.
