Bass
Nophobia · Gloucestershire, UK
Biography
Jake's musical journey started with a black Telecaster and a copy of Pearl Jam's Ten many moons ago. He joined his first band, Treacle Sleep, whilst still at school. Alongside guitarist Dean, they found their feet on the stages of Gloucester.
After a brief hiatus and a move to bass, he once again joined Dean in melodic punk n' roll outfit Murdoc. Voted Best Unsigned Band by Kerrang Radio and featuring on BBC Introducing, Murdoc brought a high-energy live show to festivals and venues across the country, including several high-profile support slots and headline shows from Gloucester Guildhall to Camden's legendary Dublin Castle.
Jake's next venture was with industrial post-hardcore outfit Mordachi. Based in London and offering a heavier take on riffs and melodies, Mordachi gained a reputation as one of the capital's most energetic live bands.
Returning to guitar in 2014, Jake joined atmospheric black metal poets Shadowflag for the next decade. Immersed in the UK's thriving extreme metal scene, Shadowflag played shows across the UK and Europe, including a road trip to the Carpathian Alliance Festival in Ukraine. Recording four full-length albums, Shadowflag became a stalwart of the UK underground.
Following the dissolution of Shadowflag, Jake has played with goth rock/synthwave outfit Inver, as well as black metal supergroup Ullenwood. Now anchoring the low end for Nophobia, Jake brings a wealth of experience and a ferocious stage presence to the band.
